Visual Design - Session 1

For our first visual design session we had to copy a digital painting in Photoshop. I have used Photosop a lot in the past for editing and manipulating photography images but painting in Photoshop is still a very new experience for me. During this practice I found colour selection to be extremely hard and had to manipulate the hue/saturation multiple times after starting the piece to get the colours to look more skin  like.
Initial Sketch

Blocked out colours

Started to add more detail to the shadows

Refining detail

Manipulated hue/saturation and liquified to bring closer to the image reference

Addition of more detail
